Our Queensland Casting Studio, by Ben Parkinson team consists of some of the most experienced and talented people in the film and television industry in Queensland.
Ben Parkinson is a Casting Director and has been in the business for over twenty years with extensive experience across the film and television industry. Ben has worked from New York across to LA and Australia-wide. Projects include major Motion Pictures, Indie Films, Local and International Television Commercials as well as Music Videos. Ben’s unique eye for casting and his compassion for each project have made him one of Australia’s highly accomplished Casting Directors.
Michelle Clancy is a Casting Director and has been in the Film and Television industry for over 20 years. Her experience has seen her cast over eight hundred campaigns, including many with a worldwide release. Michelle has cast talent across Australia and New Zealand. She has a great ability to bring out the best performances in talent with her nurturing nature and is greatly loved by our adult and child actors alike.
Joey Vieira has over 25 years in the entertainment industry, and is not only a seasoned actor but also a dedicated mentor, helping the next generation of performers sharpen their craft for film and television. Holding a BA in Theatre from California State University, Northridge, and a two-year diploma in the Meisner technique, Joey brings a wealth of experience to his weekly acting for camera classes. His approach blends technique with practical on-set insights, guiding actors to deliver compelling, authentic performances.

Ready to take your acting to the next level? Join acclaimed actor Joey Vieira (Spiderhead, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Zombie Plane) and either Ben Parkinson or Michelle Clancy for an engaging 3-hour workshop designed to give you the essential tools for success in film and television.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this workshop covers:
🎥 How to nail your audition and present yourself professionally.
🎭 Essential actor tools: Headshots, showreels, agents, and casting platforms.
📹 Mastering the self-tape process (a must-have skill!).
🎬 What to expect on set: Hitting your mark, eye lines, and framing.
🚀 Hands-on on-set simulation with a green screen scene set in space!

These classes are four hours (with breaks) held each Saturday and Sunday at 8am and Monday's at 4pm. 2025 classes start April 5th - book early as they fill up fast!

Location
All classes are held at Ad Astra at 210 Petrie Terrace, Brisbane. You will be advised on arrival which space the class will be in that session. Spaces include Pluto, Cosmos, Galaxy and Halley's Cottage.
DROP OFF
Please note, that there is a Clearway in operation in the lane right outside the complex on weekdays in the mornings 7am - 9am and in the afternoons from 4pm to 7pm with strict tow away and fines. There are no Clearways times on the weekend.
THE REGULARS classes start at 7.15pm to allow for parking out the front once the Clearway concludes at 7pm on weekdays. The lane out the front and across the road, after 7pm on weekdays, allows for four hour free parking.
SCREEN CASTING WORKSHOP evening classes operate as above. After school classes start at 3.30pm which allows for easy drop off right after school out the front but PLEASE NOTE that the Clearway begins operation at 4pm weekdays and does not conclude until 7pm. There is no clearway on weekends for the 8am classes.
PARKING
Please ensure you check the above information and also check any signs as you park. There is plenty of parking in side streets around the complex, and there is free parking in Roma Street Parklands but, please do not walk to or from there alone.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Buses run along Petrie Terrace from various areas of the city all day and night. We are 12-20 minutes walk from the Roma Street train station.
